Dr. Nicole Solem joined Four Seasons Eyecare in 2023. She practiced in Chicago, IL at a LASIK center for two years prior to moving to Minnesota. Dr. Solem strives to provide exceptional eye care to all individuals and specializes in primary eye care, specialty contact lenses, ocular disease, and binocular vision.
Dr. Solem graduated from Two Harbors High School in northern Minnesota and received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. She then obtained her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Chicago College of Optometry in Illinois where she was a member of the honor society Beta Sigma Kappa and president of the American Academy of Optometry Student Chapter. Dr. Solem completed four externships.
She studied ocular disease at Open Cities Health Center in St. Paul, Minnesota where she learned to manage various ocular diseases including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Solem gained valuable experience in working with medical professionals of all backgrounds to ensure cohesive care to all patients she encountered.
She studied at Spectrios Institute for Low Vision in Illinois where she helped in selecting and prescribing low vision devices. Dr. Solem spent some time at a specialty contact lens and binocular vision practice in the north suburbs of Chicago. She also studied at a successful primary care private practice where she found her passion for helping individuals of all needs.
While in optometry school, Dr. Solem volunteered with Remote Area Medical to provide eye exams and glasses to low-income families. Volunteering with RAM taught her the importance of outreach and community involvement; she continues to participate in similar programs in her optometric career.
Dr. Solem genuinely enjoys improving the lives around her through comprehensive eye care. Dr. Solem resides in Mound, MN with her husband. Outside of optometry she enjoys biking, traveling, all Minnesota sports, baking, going to concerts, and finding new breweries with friends.
